Mandalas are thought of as spiritual symbols that represent the universe and the cosmos. They may also represent an enlightened mind, wisdom and impermanence.

The word Kalachakra means Wheel of Time. The Kalachakra Mandala suggests that the events of the universe are cyclical in nature and life itself is ephemeral. Designed to resemble a grand palace, Kalachakra Mandalas are comprised of 5 elements. Working from the outside in they represent – body, speech, mind, centring with wisdom and finally bliss.
